The Recycling and Solid Waste District provides financial incentives to organizations interested in providing sustainable waste reduction and recycling activities in Butler County. Your organization can use grant funds to:

• Purchase recycling equipment, e.g. small, deskside recycling bins, large recycling "dumpsters", a baler, etc.
• Cover costs for recycling services
• Develop promotional materials for your recycling program

Any Butler County business, government entity, non-profit organization, or educational institution is eligible.

Grant proposals are due Dec. 12, 2008. The grant year follows each calendar year--beginning in January and ending in December.

$10,000-$15,000 in funding is available on a competitive basis. Grant awards range from $200 up to $2,900. Applicants must be able to provide a 25% grant match.
