Charges, Fees & Credits
Industrial Services manages the federally mandated pretreatment program that protects the county’s wastewater treatment plants, streams and rivers. As part of the Industrial Pretreatment Program, industrial wastewater discharges are monitored routinely for numerous pollutants.
When an industry is determined to be a Significant Industrial User, they are placed under permit and monitored accordingly. Permitted users are charged for permit administration, sampling events, sewer rates and surcharges based on the strength and volume of their wastewater.
BCWS also offers a surcharge credit to reward industrial users for improving their discharge performance and recognizing efforts to practice Pollution Prevention (P2).
