Education & Outreach

recycling lizardWe live in a rapidly changing world and education is the key to intelligent choices. Because of our strong commitment to environmental education and awareness, BCDES provides free environmental education programs to any Butler County group or organization. Schools, day care centers, scout groups, 4-H clubs, churches, libraries, civic groups, and other organizations are invited to schedule the Environmental Educator for a fun, age-appropriate presentation.

Call Environmental Educator Sue Stephenson at (513) 887-3972 to talk about your options or to book a program.

BCDES’s EcoPrograms are designed to enhance Ohio’s Proficiency Standards. The EcoPrograms online standards correlations search engine identifies the respective outcomes for math, reading, citizenship, science and writing for each of our educational programs.

Programs range from water-related topics to Butler County’s prehistoric past to recycling. For a description of the EcoPrograms offered, read on.

BCDES has a wealth of resources about the environment, and we’re willing to share! Though it was originally started as a resource for teachers, the items in the Eco-Library can be borrowed by any Butler County resident—free of charge. Not all of the publications are geared toward children; there are many resources for adults as well.

Teachers, home-schoolers, students and environmentally-conscious people of all ages are welcome to call Environmental Educator Sue Stephenson at (513) 887-3972 to borrow items from our Eco-Library.
