About Us
The Butler County Water and Sewer Department provides safe, reliable services to Butler County — one of the fastest growing counties in Ohio.
BCWS offers water and wastewater service to a growing population of more than 100,000 in West Chester, Lemon, Liberty, Fairfield, Hanover and Ross townships, the city of Monroe and the village of New Miami. BCWS's Solid Waste Management District is responsible for making recycling and waste reduction options available to all Butler County residents.
BCWS Director Martha A. Shelby manages overall operations of the department. She relies on two division heads—one each from administration and operations—to keep the utility running smoothly. BCWS has 97 employees performing tasks ranging from office duties to plant operations to field work.
